- To start, ask guests to take their shoes off once they’ve entered your home. The sand and salt used on roadways, driveways and walkways can pose a problem as the grit can scratch, etch, or erode the finish off of your natural stone floors.
- For commercial buildings, or if you don’t feel comfortable asking guests to remove their shoes, be sure to have door mats and rugs in the entryways for people to wipe their feet on.
